Today was our children's first day of school for this school year. Due to gang violence and civil unrest all the schools in Haiti have been closed for the 2022-2023 school year. The schools were scheduled to start the first week in September but due to fuel shortages, gang strong holds, and rioting the schools have had to remain closed, until now.
Things have improved in our area, making it possible for schools to reopen, at least in our region. Of course, the children had mixed emotions. Some were ready for school to start, and others enjoyed the extended summer vacation.
